DAY 1 – DON’T MISS ANY BITE
Biot, le 13 juin 2023
Let’s go! The first matches kick off this morning with a mouth-watering programme on the Mouratoglou Academy courts.
On the French side, we’ll of course follow France’s No. 1, Pauline Déroulède (world No. 18), who opens the proceedings on court No. 9 against the American Elizabeth Williams (world No. 34). But the main attractions are the matches between Stéphane Houdet (ranked 17th in the world) and Daisuke Arai (ranked 11th in the world), and between Emmanuelle Morch (ranked 23rd in the world) and Lizzy De Greef (aged 19 and ranked 17th in the world).
These two very evenly-matched matches are being played on Centre Court and can be followed via streaming on YouTube, as can the clash between two tour veterans Gordon Reid (GBR, No.9) and Maikel Scheffers (NED, No.16).
Off-court, you may come across Martin Fourcade and the champions of the Paris 2024 Athletes’ Commission, who are holding their seminar on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 June. On the menu: meetings and events to consolidate team spirit and knowledge of disability and parasports.
