Build change together
More than just a wheelchair tennis tournament, the French Riviera Open is a powerful platform for transforming society and changing how people view disability.
Working together to raise awareness and win full, participative citizenship for people with disabilities drives our volunteer teams, committed to producing the world’s finest impact tennis tournament.
Join us: we will shake up established wisdom (and have fun)!
As putting down the barriers which set us apart and educating society about disability are core missions here at the French Riviera Open, we aim to start with those who will change the world: children!
Their open minds, free from prejudices and obstacles that adults consider insurmountable, are the perfect soil for our educative programs.
Working in partnership with teachers from local schools, we have built up some exciting, simple and fun projects to tackle the subject of disability throughout the year, culminating in a turnkey immersive visit to the tournament in June.
This year, we are going one step further with the Nolan Academy by BNP Paribas, a sphere of digital content designed to raise awareness, reach out and engage young people and those around them about disability.
Children will love learning by doing, sitting in a wheelchair to try out tennis, asking questions of those who live a different reality from their own, without embarrassment or taboos, and then becoming ambassadors of diversity in their families.
Our expertise and strong links with teachers enable us to develop a year-round project that is easy to activate, punctuated by a dream day, with no travel problems thanks to the buses provided by our partner KEOLIS.
Disability is not an obstacle to the dream: the tournament players are hyper-accessible and answer questions from the kids, who will leave with a few autographs and stars in their eyes, waiting to see them on TV again at the Paris 2024 Games.
Hi there! I’m Nolan.
I’m 15, and yes! I’m strolling around in a wheelchair.
Since 2023, I am running my own show, the Nolan Academy, by French Riviera Open, a digital, web and social media space, which extends and amplifies the echo of the tournament’s educational actions.
Together, we’re raising awareness of disability among young people and their parents, cousins, uncles and aunties. But we’re also going to ask grown-ups the questions that everyone wants to ask but never dares to ask.
It’s happening on the French Riviera Open’s social accounts and mine.
