French Riviera Open 2026: first WC1000 title for Ksénia Chasteau as three singles finals await on Sunday
Ksénia Chasteau has claimed the first WC1000 title of her career. Partnering Luoyao Guo, the French No.1 won the women’s doubles final at the French Riviera Open on Saturday, defeating Jinte Bos and Lizzy de Greef 6-1, 6-4. In the men’s doubles, Gordon Reid and Gustavo Fernandez prevailed in a high-intensity final. On Sunday, the 10th edition reaches its climax with all three singles finals: Schröder–Kaplan, De Groot–Guo and De la Puente–Fernandez.
First WC1000 title for Ksénia Chasteau
Ksénia Chasteau can now add a first WC1000 title to her career record.
Partnering China’s Luoyao Guo, the Frenchwoman defeated Dutch pair Jinte Bos and Lizzy de Greef 6-1, 6-4 in the women’s doubles final.
The French-Chinese pair produced a highly convincing performance. Solid from the opening games, Chasteau and Guo quickly took control of the match to claim the first set 6-1.
Bos and De Greef offered much greater resistance in the second, but Chasteau and Guo maintained their level and held on to their advantage to complete the victory in straight sets.
After her singles run ended in the quarter-finals, the French No.1 finishes her week at the Mouratoglou Academy with her first title at WC1000 level.
A landmark victory made even more special by achieving it at the French Riviera Open in front of the home crowd.
Luoyao Guo still has a shot at the double
For Luoyao Guo, the weekend is far from over.
Just hours after lifting the doubles trophy alongside Chasteau, the Chinese player must now turn her attention to the first WC1000 singles final of her career.
On Sunday, she will face Diede de Groot, the five-time defending champion in Biot.
The Dutchwoman will be bidding for a sixth consecutive French Riviera Open title, while Guo has the opportunity to complete an extraordinary week with a singles and doubles double.
Reid and Fernandez win a high-intensity men’s doubles final
The men’s doubles title went to Gordon Reid and Gustavo Fernandez.
Facing Martin de la Puente and Ruben Spaargaren, the British-Argentinian pairing had to maintain an exceptionally high level to secure a 6-3, 7-5 victory.
After taking control of the opening set, Reid and Fernandez were pushed much harder in a fiercely contested second.
The intensity and quality of the exchanges continued to rise before Reid and Fernandez eventually found the breakthrough in the closing games to seal the title in straight sets.
The victory also gives Gustavo Fernandez the opportunity to complete a double of his own on the final day.
De la Puente–Fernandez: a rematch in Sunday’s singles final
Having faced each other across the net in Saturday’s doubles final, Fernandez and De la Puente will do it all again on Sunday – this time with the men’s singles title at stake.
The top two seeds have lived up to their billing throughout the week and will now contest the final men’s trophy of this 10th edition.
Fernandez will be chasing his third French Riviera Open singles title and his second in succession, with the added opportunity to complete a singles and doubles double.
De la Puente, meanwhile, will be looking to turn the tables after Saturday’s doubles defeat and finish his week in Biot with the singles trophy.
Schröder and Kaplan to battle for the Quad title
The Quad singles draw has also delivered its final pairing, with Sam Schröder and Ahmet Kaplan set to battle for the title on Sunday.
After a week featuring several hard-fought three-set encounters, the two players are the last men standing in the Quad singles draw.
For Schröder, there is also a chance to complete a Biot double, having already won the Quad doubles title on Friday alongside young Australian Jin Woodman.
Three finals to close the 10th edition
Everything is now set for the final day of the French Riviera Open 2026 at the Mouratoglou Academy.
Three singles finals will crown the last champions of this 10th edition on Sunday:
Quad: Sam Schröder vs Ahmet Kaplan
Women: Diede de Groot vs Luoyao Guo
Men: Martin de la Puente vs Gustavo Fernandez
Three finals, with three compelling storylines: Schröder and Fernandez can both complete singles and doubles doubles, Guo can achieve the same feat to cap the biggest week of her career at this level, while De Groot will attempt to extend her remarkable run in Biot with a sixth consecutive title.
