A week of emotion and world-class tennis

The 9th edition of the French Riviera Open came to a close with resounding success, once again confirming its place among the premier events on the international wheelchair tennis circuit.
Throughout the week, the courts of the Mouratoglou Academy hosted breathtaking rallies, world-class performances and unforgettable moments of sporting emotion. Sunday’s finals brought the perfect conclusion to an outstanding edition.

Schröder unstoppable in the Quads final

The day opened with the Quad singles final between the Netherlands’ Sam Schröder and Israel’s Guy Sasson. The world No.2 lived up to his billing, producing a dominant display to secure victory 6-1 6-3. In complete control from start to finish, Schröder added another prestigious title to his growing collection and closed his season in style.

Diede De Groot back on her throne

The women’s final marked the emphatic return of Diede De Groot to the top. The former world No.1, who had struggled with form and fitness in recent months, rediscovered her trademark precision and power against compatriot Aniek Van Koot. Too strong, too focused, too consistent – De Groot claimed a commanding 6-2 6-0 win, reassuring her fans that she is ready to reign once again on the world stage.

Fernandez overcomes Houdet in a gripping finale

The men’s final provided the perfect climax to an incredible week, with Argentina’s Gustavo Fernandez facing France’s Stéphane Houdet.
Backed by an enthusiastic crowd, Houdet came out firing to take the opening set 6-0. Fernandez, however, found his rhythm and resilience, fighting back to level 7-5 before dominating the decider 6-0. A powerful performance from the Argentinian, who claimed another prestigious title against a valiant Houdet – cheered all the way by the home fans.
