In the quarter-finals of the Quads draw, Dutchman Sam Schröder, seeded No.2, lost heavily to Guy Sasson, ranked 13th in the world (6-2 6-2).

In the semi-finals, the Israeli will face South Africa’s Ramphadi, who needed three sets to defeat Britain’s Andy Lapthorne 5-7 6-0 6-2. “At first, I was nervous and made a lot of mistakes. But in the2nd set, I had a clearer plan,” he declared.

In the other half of the draw, the semi-finals will pit Niels Vink, who beat Silva 6-0 6-2, against Koji Sugeno, who defeated Australian Davidson.

The quarters almost caused an earthquake in the women’s draw, when Diede De Groot found herself two points away from her first defeat in 106 matches. However, the Dutchwoman gathered all she had to come back and win 4-6 7-6 6-2. She joins China’s Zhenzhen Zhu, who beat Lizzy De Greef 6-2 6-1, in the semi-finals.

In the bottom half, Yui Kamiji, victorious in her duel with Lucy Shuker, awaits the end of the rain-interrupted match between Jiske Griffioen and Manami Tanaka in the next round.
